Scam Description
This is a fraudulent and vicious company. In my most recent interactions, their phone agent misrepresented himself as being McAfee, they sent an email that a 3-year purchased McAfee subscription ended at 6 months and requested an additional $290, and they sent an email from fraudulent email “mcafee@mail.email-ssl.com” imitating a real McAfee email full of phishing links. They also refused to help me unless I went through a screen control program. Prior to this, through almost 6 hours of phone calls, convinced my dad to use their McAfee subscription and took a check for $349 for 3 years of protection. I believe they were part of a scheme about ‘McAfee’ on my older father confusing and convincing him to send $3000 (the Zelle limit) through an elaborate process of trying to give a rebate, then them ‘over paying’, and then demanding money in return. That unfortunately happened when I was not with him, though recounting the story it seemed very linked to all this McAfee software messaging (which they are fraudulently doing).
