Scam Description
I received an email about my McAfee membership which was due in December, which I paid. I received a notice from McAfee Security Alliance telling me my membership expires today 11/13 and will automatically renew for $403.44. I called the number they provided and told them I didn’t sign up for anything and what information were they were going to use for automatic payment because I didn’t have a debit card. I was told that it was going to come from my checking account and I told them I didn’t authorize this. They asked if I wanted to cancel and when I said yes he asked if I was near my computer because he needed me to open up a browser. I told them I was not going to do that and I hung up.
