Scam Description

This man placed a Craigslist ad for a rental. When I went to see it, it was filthy but he claimed it was an eviction and that if I wanted to have it cleaned he would foot the bill. It required 14.5 hours of cleaning plus 2 dump runs that I paid for expecting to be reimbursed. When I submitted him the invoice I paid he made a big deal about how it was “over his budget” and he finally compromised that he was pay half this month and half next month in the form of taking it off the rent. I finally move in and 2 days later he is wanting to bring in contractors to my unit to “make a bud for refurbishments” (nothing was broken or needed immediate repairs. Outdated yes, but in need of repair no) he texted me at 830 am when I was at work asking to enter the unit at 11. I said No as I required proper notice for him to enter the unit. He said he understood, however at 1125 am his contractor and attorney illegal entered my unit. My video security system alerted me while I was at work and I was able to take pictures and tell them through the camera to leave. When I tried calling him and asking him why my privacy and rights were being violated he ignored me. He later tried to tell me he has rights to access my unit because the property is for sale and he is now terminating my lease. When I returned there is a typed up letter where he admits he entered my unit without my permission and that I have 45 days to move out. I honestly feel scammed by this man. He knowingly took on a tenant and I believe he is losing his house due to his own neglect. I doubt I’ll get even my security deposit back. I am out money and mental well being because I am on edge every time I’m alone because this man thinks he trumps the law which clearly states that you have to provide 48 hour notice of entry unless an emergency.
