Scam Description
I contacted Marvelous dachshund about adopting a puppy. They sent questionnaire asking all the right questions. Then they said they could ship the puppy for an extra fee. They sent a contract and answered all the questions I had about the puppy. Sent the payment and they were going to ship the puppy in the next couple of days. Then I get a phone call asking if I have received an email from the shipping company. They need money because owner sent wrong shipping crate. And insurance for shipping the dog. I sent the money after talking to the owner and he said I would get the insurance back. Then I get another phone call saying I need to do a covid test and a full body scan which was going to be a whole lot of money but I would get it back when puppy was delivered to me later that day. I only had two hours to get this done. I said I would not send any more money. I was then told by phone and e-mail that I would be charged with abandonment and cruelty to animals. The person from Marvelous dachshund kept emailing me and telling me to pay this amount so the puppy would not be stranded at the airport. I paid the amount and not I am out my money and have no puppy. The owner kept emailing me to send proof of payment and he would get the puppy shipped. I have over 90 emails with this person and many more and phone calls with the shipping company. The website is still up and the puppy I was going to get is still for sale.
