Scam Description
A breeder assured with contract a purchase of a puppy after a deposit. Then said they were transporting the puppy via an agency that specializes in transport. Once the puppy was dropped, the agency made contact and assured the arrival of the puppy and even provided a tracking number. The first day they requested an insurance fee to continue the delivery, the second day they requested a crate rental fee due to the need of a specific kind of crate and the next day it was a fee to cover the vet clearance/diagnosis. They assured all funds that were transferred would be refunded as soon as the puppy arrived. The day the puppy was supposed to arrive they asked for a “Animal Welfare Act” fund that would cover the assurance the puppy would be properly taken care of. I did not pay the last fee, thats when i finally said no until the puppy arrives. They refused to deliver due to my unwillingness to pay them. The breeder assured me that I was not overthinking and it was not a scam. He also had another family email me to assure me that these things happen to them, BUT they did receive their puppy and a refund. I believe now that all these people were connected and it was one big SCAM! I never did receive a puppy and don’t think I will ever see my money, as I stupidly transferred it via Zelle.
