Scam Description
An Individual named Hill ******* claimed to be an agent from the EPA reached out to me on Facebook messenger and asked if I was familiar with a grant from the EPA. In order to get the grant they told me I had to purchase $1000 in Apple gift cards to get the $100,000 grant. I did that and gave him the information for the gift cards. Then he told me I had to purchase another $3100 in Apple gift cards and I did and gave him the information. He told me this was tax free and he told me I would receive the check by FedEx the next day. Nothing came. Then he came back to me and told me the IRS stepped in and told me I had to pay $4200 in taxes to get the check. He wanted that by Apple gift cards. He contacted me again and asked me for the IRS agent number.
