Scam Description:
Hello! I am being sued by my client who hired me for event planning. I did my job and everything for the party went great. She was happy with everything. Now she is suing me because she did not like the photos from the photographer. She is saying I intentionally wanted to provoke harm to her by hiring that photographer . The thing is I didn’t even chose that vendor she did. I showed her 4 photographers from Thumbtack, she did not liked any. The time was very shorter so I told her to look on my website, pick the photos that she like so I can identify the photographer and ask if he is available . She picked the pictures from a previous event and I end up hiring that photographer . Now she is suing me and the owner of the photography company for almost $5000. We tried to settle with the photographer at early stages but because my client was very rude to him, he didn’t even wanted to talk about it ( also in their contract is a no- refund policy) At all time of the negotiation she was texting me saying that she is not disappointed with me, and is not my fault . But out of the blue she changed her attitude and started to threaten me with suing if I don’t give her the money back from the photos . She demanded me to do a charge back on my card but I didn’t do it because that is fraud if there is no true reason. She demanded to do an insurance claim which I did but was denied because my insurance doesn’t cover for faults of other vendors . I spoke with a lawyer briefly and he told me to show all the proofs that I have but he did not really told me what are the chances of winning this suit. I do not have money to pay for a lawyer to go with me that day at the court house. This incident with her produced a lot of harm to my business (long story) so I have 0 clients for 2024.
