Scam Description
I was contacted via text to interview for a job with Cytiva. They said they got my resume from Indeed. Sounded legit so I proceeded with an 2 hour interview conducted through the Element Messenger app. The next day they told me I got the job and sent me a offer letter which I signed. They told me they would send me a computer and check for software that I needed to buy. They told me when I get the check to deposit it and they would let me know what software needed to be purchased. This is when I realized this was a scam.
I contacted Cytiva and spoke with HR who confirmed that yes this is a scam and they have had several calls regarding the same issue.
