Scam Description
This company is run by Arash Bahrami. He also has another “company” named HostCogent. HostCogent is not licensed or registered, but claims to be a large domain hosting platform. They send out fake job openings all over LinkedIn and other social media. They send an assignment for the job that instructs you to sign up for the zofixer tool. The tool has a mandatory signup, that uses Stripe as their payment platform. The tool itself is not very useful, but the scam comes in when you try to cancel. The cancel button that appears to be the main button is fake, and does not cancel any plans. It tells you it cancelled your trial, but it does not. The real cancellation page is hidden away in a different part of the site. They have also turned off Stripe’s email system, which normally emails you to remind you you are about to be charged. So you will be billed without knowing, and they will refuse to refund any money, even though they did not provide any services. This is how they scammed me out of $160. I cancelled the trial after one day to do the assignment, yet they didn’t cancel and continued to charge my account without consent.
I notice the address used to register the company is 30 n gould st sheridan wy 82801, which apparently has previous complaints for other shady businesses. Clearly he is using this address for his own shady business.
