Scam Description
Vendor set up stand in front of a local grocery store advertising free smart phones and tablets. Vendor then proceeded to ask customers for social security as well as a $40 payment for the device. Claims the devices were government funded, voiding customers from a monthly fee. The vendor was approached by the police on several occasions and warned to stop the operation.
