Scam Description

I applied for this job on LinkedIn, I am a stay at home mother and I have heard about jobs like this so I applied. I received a check in the mail for $2,450 along with an instructional page on what to do and what to buy and what stores I could go to. Now, I have been scammed before and so before I did anything I called the bank that the check is from and they were from Wisconsin while this “company” is out of Texas. So that was already a red flag. Also the page is just a dead giveaway. And before I even finished my sentence the lady on the phone told me that they have been hearing about this scam and gave me information to report to their company. I attached what i received in the mail, not the check obviously since it has my personal information on it. Now, they did not bombard me with phone calls or texts or emails. Just the usual after applying to a job. That is why I always call every bank to see if a check is real no matter what. In this case, there were too many names and I knew it was off. Please be careful!
