Scam Description
This person hacked the LinkedIn account of Erick Acosta and posted a job posting for a virtual assistant. I applied on LinkedIn and moments later they messaged me, asking for my phone number for more details. I gave it to them and later in the day, they texted me about the job, all I had to do was post listings of rentals on Facebook marketplace and avail.co. They would pay 700 a week and give daily benefits, but wouldn’t tell me what those benefits were or answer my question regarding hours. They said they would pay me through payapps, cashier check, or direct deposit. When I said that it seemed simple, they asked for my email and sent me a listing to post. They seemed like they were in a hurry for me to post as they were asking if I posted it 10 mins after sending it and they wanted me to send a screenshot when I was done. The listing was for a rental home in Howell, NJ, they sent over pictures and the description of the place as well. While I was in the middle of the listing, the real Erick Acosta messaged me on Linkedin, telling me that his account was hacked and he was not the person who I was talking to about the job. I quickly deleted the posting on Facebook marketplace. I stopped answering them and they continued to ask if I did the listing yet.
