Scam Description
I received a phone call today from 803.790.1972 and the lady said she was with Spectrum and asked if my Spectrum bill was too high, if so, she could help in lowering it. After confirming who I was she put me through to a gentleman who said he could offer me with the same TV stations and High-Speed Internet that I currently have and save me $90 per month. In addition, he promised to add for free Showtime and HBO for three (3) months. In the course of this conversation, he mentioned AT&T so I said, “Wait a minute…if I have trouble with my Internet or TV, do I need to call Spectrum or AT&T?” He said AT&T. I said, “Wait a minute, I don’t want to change from Spectrum, besides, the lady told me she was calling from Spectrum. I’m done. I don’t wish this conversation to go on. He was silent then started telling me how much he could save me each month, and I hung up. This is a SCAM and they need to be stopped. For what it’s worth, both persons had a foreign accent. I hope you will investigate this and take these folks down.
