Scam Description
I was nearly a victim of a bait-and-switch scam by Optimum-Cablevision-Alice USA.
On July 27 they promised a monthly bill of $86.89, but then, after they thought that I had signed up they revealed the real monthly charge of $241.89.
Optimum appears to be trying to sign up customers through deceit. I narrowly escaped subscription because of the indication of poor service very early on, before I signed up, which prompted me to cancel the installation.
Their system is in such a disarray that I appeared on their system as a fully-subscribed customer. That’s when they sent me the real monthly figure.
Attached are emails evidencing all that. Note that they never replied to my last email.
I want other customers to beware of this scam and avoid falling victim to it.
