Scam Description
I was shown an “advertisement” offering discounted weekly hotel rates. I text “hotel” to the number shown believing it was a real time offer. I received messages from Paul providing rates for particular hotels. After corresponding back and forth I received a quote of $740 for a two week stay and a screenshot of a reservation made in my name for Quality Inn on Airport Rd in Jacksonville Florida. I provided a total of $1086 to this “company” for what should have been for a 3 week stay. My husband and I were woke up by hotel management and told to vacate the premises because our entire stay at the property had been booked in my name, but paid for with stolen credit cards. The hotel contacted the card holders who verified that their card information had been stolen and they had never authorized the charges. We have been being given the run around with fake refund records etc. I have multiple phone numbers, email addresses, Cashapp accounts as well as the initiation of the scam is on camera. The scammers also drove us to check in at the hotel and are on camera there as well
