Scam Description
I found Support # on line and called about my Comcast email.
-Person was extremely persistent injecting fear tactics and saying my system was 97% hacked and hackers could soon get at any financial info.,( which I do not have)
– I allowed him Renitr Access and he then displayed foreign tcip addresses of foreign users, asking me if I had oversees relatives.
– He wanted $150 for software abd fix.
– I stalled, and told him I needed to check with my husband. He said he would wait, and when I told him he had left, he countered with’ I can hear his voice, so he is there’.!!
– I then said I would call back and hung up.
– I shut down my laptop.
– The whole call was 21 minutes
– I then called my bank.. regardless and all was fine.
– I then called a local Tech guy that I have done business with, to check for viruses and he found one, but not sure if it was a result of my experience.,
– Fairly intimidating even for me.
