Scam Description

Computer locked advising of trojan virus via microsoft and to call a toll-free number for technical assistance. I believed to be microsoft and offered information requested despite usual hesitancy to offer requested information. Spoke with Larry B. in technical support who offered information on what they could and would do to assist me. Then connected me to ‘supervisor’ Daniel S. who explained cost and how they would assist me over the next year at a charge of $350 for software, to clean virus and for tech support throughout the year. I ignorantly allowed remote access which was not removed until credit card cleared payment. My bank suspended credit card for suspicious activity and would not allow payment until following day. Following multiple phone calls and 3 hours with “tech support” on my computer; they finally freed my computer for personal use. Payment has not been made as yet but charge is in place.
