Scam Description
I received a letter via USPS from Swiss Lottery International Sweep Stake Association of North America & Overseas. With a Check $ 9617.98 on a Chase Bank check. The name on the check was from: R New York Rel E State,LLC. Escrow Account Michael Woodbrooke Branch UCC, Canada. Signed by: Geo E. Cole. I took the check to my bank & tried to open an account with the check. My banker said the check was fraudulent. They told me to call the BBB.
At first they tried to sell me magazines & I told him I did not want them. He said “I didn’t have to order them to enter the sweepstakes.” The drawing was 7-28-23 & my Number came up as a winner. I won the amount on the check I received $9617.98.Within 3-5 business days I would receive a check for $2,000,000.00 with a REF#*********. I called Mr. Woodbrooke@ ph# 929-800-2530 & told him what happened & he told me “No, I was supposed to call him first before going to the bank.” I called the phone# on the letter I received with the check & they told me to take it to my bank. He put me on hold & then hung up on me. I called him back. He argued with me. He hung up on me again. I tried to call back again & all I got was an Answering machine. I haven’t heard back since.
The Vice President of the Swiss Lottery International Sweep Stake Association of North America & Overseas, Deborah Schaefer name was on the letter & she signed it.
