Scam Description

First he was on a online dating site and it seemed pretty legit. Well after time he said he had to go for business to Spain and he had gotten arrested due to these cases that suppose to have contained money and other various items such as gold bars. He even had a video of the items being ceased. He told me that he would need money to get back to the US and asked if I would be able to get the shipment sent to me. I asked him why send it to me just send it to your own address, so he insisted they come to me for a fee. This shipping company named Cargo Express got a hold of me and said they needed x amount of money for these cases to be sent to me. Then it got to be where he needed money to get home, he wasn’t the only one involved. I guy named Anthony was another person of interest and he suppose to be the one who took care of his flights and other various things. This guy was going by the name of Robert Maxwell, and he is on Facebook with same face. Not his real name probably at all, anyway he said he had the attorney by the name of Jefferson, and he was helping get him out of Lisbon because that’s where he said they took him. So long story short he kept making up all these stories and I fell for it, being stupid I guess. The last one was when he was going to pay me back the money that he borrowed and he sent me a check and I said that it didn’t look real, and he said to deposit it and I did. Long story short I told my bank let me know if it clears cuz I had a funny suspicion that it was fraudulent. It was for the amount of $51,260…he told me I need you to take $15,000 and send it to me right away. Well, I finally wised up and didn’t send him another dime after that. Lessons learned I guess, the hard way. Never again. He was telling me everything I wanted to hear, like spending the rest of our lives together, you name it. He also said he lived in Jacksonville, Florida. The address he had given me was false and it was on the market to be sold and wasn’t even his house.
