Scam Description
Hi, on Sept. 10, 2023 I responded to an ad from Facebook Marketplace claiming to have a 2 bedroom 1 bath home for $900 monthly. After i responded she asked for my contact number so she could send me more information about the home. So, i gave it to her and she sent me a link for an application and said once we paid an $85 application fee plus $800 security deposit we could move in. Something just didn’t feel right about our conversations in the texting. So I went to a few housing sites and found the same home she was advertising with a different owner, contact information and different monthly rent( $1,900.00) I did tell the possible scammer that I wouldn’t fill out or pay any money until we viewed the property and this was fine with her. Her Facebook profile says her name is Mariela Jamaica of Pleasant Grove, Texas # 559-274-5785 and the home she is posting for rent is 4808 Atlantic Avenue Savannah, Ga. 31405
When I searched the other websites the owner name Chad Tindell came up and the contact for him is 912-875-8156. The rent amount in these sites is asking for $1,900 monthly.
I just want to know who REALLY owns the home and Is it really available for rent for $900 a month.
