Scam Description
After posting an ad on Craigslist to sell our travel trailer I was contacted by someone interested in coming to see it. The text read: “ Cool, Lets setup for tomorrow at 2? I’ll ask my manager for a day off also talk to my friend that’s all are the part of arangements LOL. Can you provide me CV Report?” The scammer than requested: You can get recent CV Report from https://www.vinvehiclepro.com Oh, I forgot to ask for your name? My name is Anderson, I’ve sent you a link for the CV report because i did couple of reports in the past never had an issues so i trust the results its cheap so i referred. It shows all of the history like recall, title & mileage verification and history info that i need to see.… The report collected our card information. The report was not correct and a receipt read from vincheckup.com. The website even has a help option but clearly was not helpful. We had to cancel our card and now will watch any suspicious activity.
