Scam Description
I was called by a company impersonating the USPTO agent stating that my trademark application was approved and that i needed to pay a $277.81 fee. I told them I was not comfortable with giving my personal information and credit card information and they are stating that they are calling from a Federal office and the number on the caller ID match the number on the website as 571-272-1000. However, I reached out to an attorney who advised me that it was a scammed and they used spoofing caller id calls to appear that they were calling from the USPTO office. I’ve already reached out to my bank. However, I’m concerned about the other personal information they obtained.
