Scam Description
The scammer emailed stating on an invoice they would renew my subscription with Geed Squad (Best Buy), but I never ordered this in the first place and did not request to renew. They had only my email address, not my name on the invoice (only a customer ID#, invoice #), and a phone number to contact them. I called it and a man named “Matthew” with an east Indian accent answered, stating he would reverse the charges and cancel the subscription. He asked my name. I gave my first name and he had my phone number from my call to him at 808-229-3680. So far, I don’t see any charges on my credit card or bank account withdrawals yet so I’ll keep an eye on it.
