Scam Description
Victim is a disabled, older woman in a rural community. She was contacted by an “Alex P. Wagner” from Columbus, OH, who claimed to be a retired FBI agent. Alex’s father left him an investment company which Alex coerced the victim, K, to invest in. K was told that she was securing a director’s job but had to pay to hold the spot and fix up her office. K was told that she was the recipient of two million dollars that he was holding for her. Alex had K give him thousands in gift cards, sometimes claiming that the codes didn’t work so K would send additional cards. K video chatted with Alex but mostly they kept to WhatsApp. Alex refused to tell K the address of the company. He called the company “Alex and K’s Investment.”
