Scam Description
A middle aged man knocked on the door wearing a blue shirt and black pants (I think it said ADT but didn’t look close enough). He said he was here to follow up with the home owners and referred to them by name (neither person had previously talked to this man). He said he was here to do a walkthrough of the house and see what specifics our house would need. When I suggested he call them, he declined and asked if there was a better time to come back because it’s best to do in person. He gave me a flyer that looked very official saying he is a relocation manager with his name, John McMonigle and phone number. At the very bottom in extremely small print was a list of states and license numbers. However. None of the license numbers I looked up on ADT’s website have results. The dealer location on the flyer (Safe Haven Security) is also not in our state. I suspect that this individual was trying to scope out my home.
