Scam Description

Received postal card in the mail reminding me that my car warranty expired. Card seemed legit, had car year, make and model on it. Representative that I spoke to had car VIN number. Applied for policy that I qualified for. Paid $295 deposit. After, a friend tipped me off about possible scam, I did online research and found that the postal card I received was similar to the scam card example on line. Tried to call back, could not get a hold of the rep I spoke to. Was told to call their customer service. I called…was told I would receive a call back within an hour. No callback. Tried to call again but got no response. Reported incident to AARP, was informed that their phone number was not legit. I cannot send an example of what I received because there is private info on there…name, address, car info etc.
