Scam Description
Any text with a number you don’t recognize don’t respond. I had just ordered an online order on my Amazon acct. The amount listed in the text was about 8 times the amount of my order so I called. They stated they were Amazon tech support and someone had used my ip address. They asked if I knew anyone in Ohio and Florida. I said no. Then they stated that the issue originated in Spain. They asked if I had been to Spain. I said no. They stated they needed to block my credit cards from international charges. Because I had just ordered from Amazon, my radar wasn’t up. I have learned NEVER NEVER share any info . I was scammed – they hit my Chime acct, and my Citibank acct in excess of $1500.00, mostly as transfer of funds and cash advance on my credit card. I have disputed the charges with both companies, Chime and Citibank.
Chime has declined to resolve this fraudulent charge and I am going public to not only help more individuals aware that I believe it is AMAZON TECHS who are committing these crimes by scamming unsuspecting individuals, however, how unprofessional Chime is when individuals have been the victim of Fraud.
