Scam Description
We went through Angi’s list. We were looking for someone to fix the skimmer of our pool and also to open our pool. This guy by the name of John Gonzales showed up. His number is (845) 543-9290. He said he was from Mahopac, NY. He was showed up unannounced. He said that he was at my home for 4 hours. When I inquired when my 4 hours started, he said as soon as he got into his truck my time commenced. I told him that this is utterly garbage. He had a whole lot of garbage in his truck, when he pulled up at my house I thought he was a guy looking for scrap metals. He also had a dog in his truck. Who shows up to work with a poodle?
He did not have any tools and had no materials. He was looking into my shed for materials. He was very unprofessional.
I told him that I did not want to work with him. He left but still lied and stole by saying he did work at my house. He had Angi’s list take out $682 from my credit card.
Please be very careful!!! Eeven though these crooks are from Angi’s list you can still be scammed.
He did not have any sins or writings to say what business he represents on his truck. He had an old pick up truck with ALOT of scrap metals in it.
