Scam Description
We reached out to purchase a blue russian kitten due to being a hyper allergenic cat. Our daughters birthday is coming up and we couldn’t find a pure russian blue in our area. We started reaching out and came across Elegant Blue Kitties. I was unaware of pet scammers and had no issues with getting our puppy 8 years ago online. We started the conversation through emails and did the application for purchase. They provided documentations of the kitten (so we thought) videos, pictures * all in the same room * gave a few options from the litter explains buns was the most playful. Was very talkative and informative. Gave all the steps and information on the air port and times. we did the transfer through Zelle ($700 for the kitten + $200 for travel = $900 total transfer) They sent an additional document with ownership transfer and had us sign stating we needed it for pick up at the airport. Told us to wait 24 hours for confirmation. We received an additional email stating we had to pay an additional $1000 refundable insurance (which we did not feel comfortable) when we asked they did not respond. They stated if we did not pay it we would not get the kitten. We asked for our money back and they never responded. The phone number is now disconnected. No kitten was delivered.
