Scam Description
New business owner received a card in the mail titled “ALERT; You Must Post Revised North Carolina & Federal Labor Law Notices. Failure to comply with posting regulations can lead to fines up to $37,513. Return this form in the enclosed envelope to bring your business into compliance.”
Business owner sent a check for $22.31 to order poster. Once Personnel Concepts received the check/order, I received a phone call stating my business required additional posters totaling in $224.85 or I would likely be fined thousands of dollars. The female was condescending, and intimidated me into ording additional posters for fear of being fined. When the call ended I looked up the company online, including BBB website and read numerous similiar complaints. I called Personnel Concepts back within 30 minutes to cancel my order and was told it was already processed. She stated my only option was to refuse the package. Being that this package did not require a signature, it was simply dropped off and there was no option to refuse. I was unable to return to sender and to have to pay over $30 to send it back myself is unacceptable considering I called back in under an hour to cancel the order. I was misled into ordering these posters that are free to download online then was refused when I tried to cancel the order. I received a call from them today stating that they were giong to turn it into a third party. I asked if I could simply return the items and they said, “No, too much time has passed.”
