Scam Description
I listed an item for sale on marketplace and immediately received a response from Alma ****** stating she was very interested in my item. She asked me if i would mind to send her my phone number just to verify i was real. I gave her my phone number and she messaged me a 6 digit code to my phone number asking me to send her the code. Unfortunately i did, thinking she was just being cautious. She then asked me if i minded if she verify another number because there was a problem with the first number,i guess.So, I sent her our local POLICE DEPARTMENT’s phone number. She then asked if if she could send a code to verify it and i said “go ahead”. She told me i needed to say yes or no but i again told her to “go ahead”.
I stopped any further communication with her and reported her as a scam to marketplace.
