Scam Description
I purchased 2 tickets for the Lights Festival in Toronto on August 20, 2022. The doors were open from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
We drove 2 hours to this event and waited an hour in stop and go traffic to be let in (there is no traffic coordination whatsoever). There is also no cell service in this area (this is due to the fact that despite the fact that the lights festival claims that it is in Toronto it is actually an outside of Hamilton on Six Nations land). Anyways…
There is no organization at this event and when we pull up to the gate we were told that it was cancelled… MEANWHILE, the event coordinators were not posting anything via email/social media/etc.
This event is a scam. They oversell the tickets in order to make a profit and then continuously postpone event dates with no intention to actually host the event.
This business takes a large amount of money and capitalizes on native land, which they do not want or agree with.
This business should be permanently closed for many reasons (racism, theft, environmental harm, etc).
I believed that there practices were ethical until I was scammed, which made me look deeper into this company. They do not deserve to be in operation.
