Scam Description
I got an ad in my Instagram feed for a nice shoe rack. Reviews from the company looked good, even after a couple weeks. I ordered a shoe rack for $47.98. I didn’t get a confirmation email, which I thought was strange; according to their website, they are in America (note: I cannot find their website now). After a couple days, I emailed them, asking for an ETA for my package. The response I got was that COVID was delaying things but I was given a tracking number. About three days later, I received a cheap plastic bracelet, shipped under the same tracking number as my shoe organizer was supposedly under. I immediately emailed them, informing them of the mix up. I was told, yes, the warehouse sent the wrong item. The bracelet, they claimed, was worth $100 (no possible way) and I could keep it without having to pay the difference. They sent me a link to a different website entirely, with a photo of some other bracelet (this is not what I received) : https://www.mowou.com/products/ocean-collection.-purple-pearl-bracelet .I responded that, no, this was their mistake and they needed to fix it. I have gone back and forth with “support,” who say I can keep the bracelet and get a 30%, 40%, and most recently 50% refund. This would still mean I paid $24 for a cheap piece of plastic. I can’t get more info on this company, like where they’re actually based or even a fake address. I wish I could get my money back, since this is clearly a scam, but I can’t get enough info to file a proper claim with BBB (there is on record of a business called Cynthian London and I have no zip code to work with).
