Scam Description
I inquired about a miniature dachshund puppy online since my wife’s had passed recently. I found this website and sent them the $500 to get the puppy named Mochi. After several emails requesting more money (all through gift cards) for fees such as flight change, Covid full body scan, special crate, etc. the scammer then threatened me to tell me I would be facing criminal charges for pet abandonment. My stepdaughter looked into the website and requested the same dog and was told verbatim what we were. I was shocked and heartbroken that she was told the same dog was still available. We also found photos of the same dog on other websites. I am going to try and file a police report but want to prevent someone else going through the heartache we have thinking we were getting a new family member.
