Scam Description
I took an IQ test through the IQ institute in the month of June. The test was supposed to cost a one-time fee of $1.99. After looking at my credit card statements, I noticed that I had recurring charges of $24.95 from IQ institute every month. I was very confused as to why they were charging me monthly since I only chose to pay the one-time fee of $1.99. I gave them a call to try and dispute the charges but would only refund me for one month. They said I enrolled in the “family pack” that cost $24.95.
I decided to call my bank instead to dispute the charges.
After looking at their website one more time I noticed a few red flags.
– On their home page, there is no login for you to see your account.
– With no login page you can’t use the “family pack” service
– Under the pricing tab, there is only one pack that states the $1.99 fee for the test and no other family pack.
– I did not receive an email with a confirmation of my purchase
