Scam Description
I sold an item online for $1100 through Facebook. Buyer sent a cashier’s check from Citibank in the amount of $4550. The buyer said I would have to pay the shipping company. I tried to verify the Cashier’s check with numerous calls to Citibank over two days. Their automated system said there was no match for the check. I then reported this via online with the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
