Scam Description
On October 21, I paid $1 with my credit card for a vehicle history report from vehiclerecords.net. The website emphasizes that the report only costs $1 and advertises a monthly membership with unlimited access for $25 per month (see pictures). It also says in gray print on the last page it says “$1 initial report/$25 per month.” Yet at no point in time was it clear that I was signing up to pay for more than just the report. In fact, I never got a login to access the site, nor did I want access. Today, November 17, I noticed that after they charged my card for $1, they charged me $23.95 the same day, and then charged me $23.95 twice more in November. I just called them and demanded they reimburse me all the money that I did not agree to pay. A customer service rep said accounting would contact me via email in 3-7 days. I have my doubts that I will hear back, but even if they do refund me, this is a clear scam.
