Scam Description
They came to my front door offering to clean my gutters for $100. I accepted. They cleaned a small section of gutter in back of my house, climbed on the roof and examined my roof and chimney. They then came back to the door with a bucket of dirt they had cleaned from that small section and informed me that a few shingles were missing (I believe it was 2) and the chimney was in bad shape and needed repair. They provided pictures which I have. I agreed to let them repair the chimney and finish the gutter cleaning for the sum of $2000.00. They requested a deposit of $600.00 which I sent by etransfer. They left to get supplies for the repair work and we agreed they would return to do the work after the weekend. After consulting with my husband I sent the company an email cancelling the contract, and requesting return of my deposit minus the original $100 for their time and the small amount of work they actually did (replacing 2 shingles and cleaning 1 section of gutter.) I have their contract and my email and texts with the company in which they claim that they did $600 worth of work on my home and prevented my roof from leaking. They refuse to return my deposit. I have kept all pictures and correspondence.
