Scam Description
We hired Israel Pineda Benitez (Carpenter) D.O.B. 4/16/1975 Country of Origin: Mexico Work Permit Expired On: 12/12/20 from offerup to demo and make a new backyard covered patio for which he quote us $4,500 which included labor and all materials and asked for half upfront as a deposit which we Zelle him $2,000 on Saturday 10/15/2022 which is what he said he needed to purchase the material and to start the job, he came on Saturday 10/15/2022 without any materials and did part of the demo which in doing so he damaged part of the stucco of the house which he said he would fix and he came on Sunday 10/16/2022 and installed 3 footings and then he said that he would come back on Wednesday 10/19/2022 to give the footings time to dry and finish the demo and also bring the materials needed to start building the new covered patio and he never showed and instead started sending threatening texts and insulting me and telling me that he not only wasn’t going to be back to finish the job but that he wasn’t returning any of the money. The work that he did was not only not worth the $2,000 we paid him, but also it wasn’t done right.
