Scam Description
The “owner” of Merced Landscaping goes by William Soza. When I met him he said he was a Landscaper and had his own business and license. He presented me with his business card which included the name of William Soza, Lic #2200065139; tel# (209)619-9343; email address mercedlandscaping209@gmail.com. When he gave me the estimate and we made the agreement we signed the contract. He asked for $1,500 to begin. The next day he asked for more for the material. Once he kept prolonging and giving excuses on when he would do the job (this happened over 4 times), I decided to go to the address he had as his business site for the contract (409 Noble Dr. Merced CA, 95340). The address was a residence. I spoke to the tenant and the landlord. Turns out they did not even know this person and he had never even lived there. They also told me that I was not the first person to go looking for a guy with that name. They said multiple people had looked for him at their residence because he owed people money and would give this address. They included that they have received multiple pieces of mail addressed to him.
