Scam Description
Their email was masquerading as the NYS DMV site, requesting a car registration renewal. They had my name, email address, license plate number and expiration date. I don’t know how they acquired that info. The link in the email took me to their website where there was an additional fee of $20 to renew my car registration. I did not fall for it. The real NYS DMV site allows for online car registration renewal with no charge. This website is fraudulent.
