Scam Description
I received a phone call telling me that I qualified for Biden’s student loan forgiveness program and that I should call 877-844-6191. I called this number at 7:15 at night and was told to press zero if I wanted to continue which I did. The person who answered asked me if I called to find out about the National Student Loan Center. He didn’t seem to know why I why what my phone call was about until I said yes. I then told him that I understood that applications for the Biden student forgiveness loans didn’t come out till October. He hesitated then he said to me well I can’t help you then. I called back couple of times eventually he told me that I seem to have it under control and he couldn’t help me and that I should do it myself and he hung up on me. First of all when he answered the phone he did not say this is a student loan sent that he said are you calling about the student loan which gave me a red flag then he hesitated when I told him applications didn’t come out till October then he said well you know all about it then so you can do it yourself and hang up on me this does not sound to me like a legitimate government agency so I think it bears looking into thank you bye
