Scam Description
The scammed texted me on Friday at 2:05pm, calling me by my first name and pretending to be my boss. When I attempted to copy the phone number on my iPhone I accidentally called the number and hung up quickly. Soon after I hung up I got another text message saying “At a meeting. I can’t make a call, I’m excellent with texts I need you to run a quick task.” The task was “I have a presentation in a few, I need some Google certificate card bar-codes. I was hoping you could purchase some at any store close by physically.”
I have not purchased anything because I know that this person is not my boss, but I am scared that he will use my name to scam someone else.
