Scam Description

Home Warranty Renewal sent a FINAL RENEWAL NOTICE to me. This hard copy had my lender information for our home listed, a record ID, notice date, contact phone, record ID and a response date. After calling and speaking to a representative who forwarded me to a manager without notice. I asked several times (5) how this was a renewal as I did not know that I had a home warranty. After going through this conversation several times, the manager told me that I needed to call my closing agent. I then called the closing agent for my home. I indeed did not have a home warranty to begin with. I called the company back and asked to speak to a manager. I was connected with a finance manager and I let him know that this was a misrepresentation and the company could be taking advantage of people. He hung up on me. A few minutes later, I received a call from another manager. I conveyed my same concerns. He noted that they heavily market their product and I qualified as an individual that had no coverage. Again, I reiterated that this is misrepresenting the product. He then transferred me to a representative to go through the same conversation. During these multiple conversations, I received three different rates that I could qualify for. I did not sign up.
