Scam Description
I had applied for several jobs on Monster Jobs. A Lamar Thomas contacted me via email with my information from Monster about working for Gladly Inc. This was to be for a remote job. He stated that employees were required to purchase the items needed for the job from their vendor and would then be reimbursed. He had what appeared to be a valid W4 form from the company Gladly Inc. He had the company address and information’s to appear legit. He used Microsoft Teams to communicate, signed in as Gladly Inc., along with his phone. He kept increasing the cost of the items each day trying to get more money. He had a company reimbursement form that also appeared legit. Overall he was trying to scam close to 2000.00. He had a slight accent when he spoke, possibly African. He tried to get more money over the course of most of the last day of contact even going so far as to pay for part of it himself if I could just come up with a few hundred more. Once I refused to send money he stopped contact.
