Scam Description
I was offered a job by the company “Storage Drop”, they sent me employment paperwork and W-4 which I filled out and returned. The manager that I was working with said they were going to send me a check for $5000 so I could get all the supplies for my home office. He asked me to buy a printer off of Amazon for 200-300, send $1000 to Greg Cox via Zelle, and $2000 to an employee to get my computer and put in all the programming. I sent the money to Greg, bought the printer, and sent the 2000 but red flags were popping up so I wanted to wait a day before I did anything else with the money, and the next day the check bounced. I contacted my manager Mark and he assured me that it would be fixed the next day via direct deposit because I told him I would not accept another check. That was the last time that I heard from him. The contact he was using on telegram changed, it no longer had the company picture or anything and he was no longer responding. He then deleted our messages so I could not access them anymore. Thankfully I did take screenshots of some of our conversations so I do have that for proof. This company got away with $3000 and all my personal information including my social.
