Scam Description
I was first contacted by someone who claimed to be see my resume. Email was from Alona Hillel who claimed to work for Mobileye and was the Human Resources Manager. She asked me to set up Teams and then contact her. I did so, and we talked back and forth about the position and hours. It was for a remote Administrative Data Entry position. This was my first time looking for remote work, so I didn’t know that this was even scam. She even sent me a link to the company website. Alona asked me a bunch of questions that seemed like normal interview questions. The next morning I received an email letting me know that I was hired. There was an attachment going over the position that I was asked to date and sign. Then there was a benefits packet that I also needed to sign. Later on I was contacted by Nimrod Brickman who claimed to be my Team leader for Team C. I was told about the position. I remember mentioning a couple of times to Alona and Nimrod that the job seemed too good to be true. Then he said finance said it would be easier to pay off my existing debt on my credit card as well as put the credit on the card for the software and equipment. I couldn’t get that to work with the information he needed, so the next idea he had was to email me a copy of a check and I would deposit it into my account. I did this, and now had $4900 in my bank or so I thought. Next was he needed me to Zelle money to his vendor for the software. I attempted but luckily Zelle wouldn’t do it. So we tried CashApp, and I attempted to send $1000. Luckily this was flagged and wouldn’t go through. Before this however, he wanted me to go buy a Macbook for the software to be downloaded onto. I finally saw the red flags and have since spoken to my bank and corrected everything. However, in the process of all of this, they now have all of my personal information as well as ID. They have everything they need to steal my identity.
