Scam Description
I received a letter for a mystery shopper offer. I do lots of these, but never through the mail. It’s always online and I get a specific set of instructions and a specific location to shop and pay is never as much as was offered in this letter which immediately threw up a red flag……They sent a fake cashiers check in my name that looks real or legit for $2,450.00. The letter stated that I needed to go deposit or cash the cashiers check and purchase ebay gift cards and send them the numbers on the back and I would get $500.00 and if I did it within 24 hours of the letter then I would get an extra $100.00. I looked it up on line and there were many scams the same as this so I am reporting it here, hoping they don’t scam someone out of their money. Letter is attached.
