Scam Description

I received an email inquiring about an interview to review my qualifications for a Project Manager position (heavy machinery and oil equipment transportation) for an international logistics company. They were claiming to be interested in doing business in Illinois to work with such as “Nissan Industrial Equipment, WW Grainger.” I’m assuming they found my resume on a job site (Indeed to be specific). First reflag was there was no formal interview, via phone, zoom or in person. Instead, they asked me to fill out a pre-employment agreement and a questionnaire. They stated that there would be a 4 week paid training (min of 2400 & max of 5200 for above average test scores) as a sub-contractor, when hired full time position would pay 96000 the first year including full benefit package. Red flag in that statement was health care claim it would only cover myself and one other person at full cost, for 1 extra person that the benefits covered at 50%. On the 4th week of training, they explain there would be a final test and an offer if they decided to hire you. The 5th week of training would be at the corporate office in New York City with all expenses paid. Another red flag was that they kept asking me to verify my contact information despite the fact they had a form I filled out already with the information. I missed all of their calls because they were not very punctual when it came to setting up phone interviews. The HR manager who claimed to be an Aaron Reynolds repeatedly explaining that they were nothing to serious just to get to know me better. What sold this process as a scam is that the I couldn’t find the any google search results to find reviews of the company or even a LinkedIn page, which I found strange that an international logistics solution company wouldn’t have search results besides the website. On top of that when searching addresses provided on the site, the business was not registered at any of the locations provided. The cherry. on top was the supposed Zurich Switzerland headquarters rep called at 9:30pm their time, and 2 hours later than the time that was schedule. During the call, the rep of the scam company United Transportation Network Co. LLC, said ‘I am calling about (insert random company name here) interview, i’m sorry,’ then hung up so fast once she realized she messed up the script. I called back 3 times and each call magically couldn’t be completed. Moral of the story, if you can’t even company reviews, and the professionalism of the company is lacking in multiple areas question the validity of the company.
Claimed locations based on site are 1) Headquarters’ Zurich, Switzerland, 2) Vienna, Austria, 3) Toronto, Canada.
