Scam Description

I got a text about being a position that was paying $35.75 (too good to be true) and to download the Signal app and speak with the Hiring Manager, ‘Catarina Pires’. The bot told me I could only respond Yes or Okay. Which was already suspicious and the interview was automated. I was asked to reveal my address and bank name so they can send me the check for my equipment. I was silly enough to provide my address and bank name, but thankfully I didn’t go through with the rest. They asked for an email so they can email my job offer along with I-9 documents. At this point, I had done a lot of research on recruitment scams and this one was so it. I actually just received the email, and the email was from ‘@greenvoltsa.com’. Greenvolt.com is a legit company, but the recruiter was a scam posing for the company. In fact, the job I had applied for wasn’t listed on the company website. Even the company website says to disregard any email not from the domain @greenvolt.com. Thankful I didn’t fall for this scam and I’m here to report. Stay safe when applying for jobs.
